Catering services in Shanghai will stop offering disposable utensils to customers starting next month.

According to Shanghai market regulators, starting from July 1, restaurants and food delivery services in the city will be banned from offering customers disposable chopsticks, spoons, and forks unless they ask for them.

Companies that fail to abide by the new rule can be fined up to 5,000 yuan (730 U.S. dollars).
