Chinanews, Nanjing, August 29 – Several girls studying at the Law School of Nanjing Normal University conducted a research on the employment conditions of female college graduates in Nanjing, finding that most of them are still faced with the triple discriminations of gender, age and pregnancy in the job market. First, quite a lot of enterprises in Nanjing prefer to hire males. Sometimes they impose very strict or even unreasonable restrictions on female candidates in many respects, including love affairs. Second, many employers only want single female employees aged under 22. However, the average age of female college graduates is usually 23 or 24. Third, some companies have the strange stipulation on forbidding their female employees to conceive babies in the first 3 or 5 years, fearing that it might cause economic losses to them.
