Chinanews, Shanghai, December 22 - Xiao Yi, 15, received parts of livers from both of her parnts on December 21 in the Ruijin Hospital.Xiao Yi had a fatal liver failure, and the doctors decided to transplant the left leaf of her 45-year-old father and the right leaf of her 43-year-old mother into her body to become a complete one. A 37-member team spent hours to finish the operation.This was the first operation of its kind in Shanghai, and there had been only two successful cases in China. Such operations have also been conducted by doctors in South Korea and Germany.So far, all three patients are in good condition.
