Chinanews, Beijing, April 2 - During the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing will send more than 80,000 people for security maintenance, including police, professional security personnal and volunteers.They will have to receive training in 42 items before they are posted on duty, such as emergency aid, evacuation, knowledge about Olympics, international etiquette and knowledge about religions, and the professional personnel will also receive training on anti-riot, hostage rescue, explosives handling and unarmed assaults.The prototypes of security systems in the 37 Olympic gyms and stadiums have been completed. The guidance and navigation systems will be in full function well before 2008. During the Games, local traffic administration will conduct a comprehensive monitoring over the roads and streets around the stadiums, gyms, hotels and the Olympic Village.From now on to the beginning of the Games, the security officers of all the participating countries and regions in the 2008 Olympic Games will have meetings with Beijing Olympic Security Command Center to discuss possible problems in the security system of the Games every 6 months. Such meetings will be held every day during the Games.
