Chinanews, Beijing, September 5 – On September 4, 2007, China released its long-term plan on renewable resource development, saying that by 2010, renewable energy will take up 10% of its total energy consumption. By 2015, the proportion will increase to 15%, and a complete renewable industrial and technological network with independent intellectual property rights will be set up to meet the great demand for energy in the domestic market.In the next 10 years, the Chinese government will take measures to maintain market order, and implement favorable policies for the industry. It is estimated that at least 2 trillion yuan will be needed.By 2020, due to the wide use of renewable energy like hydropower and windpower, the emission of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide will be cut by 1.2 trillion tons, not to mention that it will also protect millions of trees. Besides, the new industry will offer at least 2 million job openings.
