Chinanews, Beijing, February 6 – Currently, more than 320 thousand people from all round China have applied for enrollment as volunteers in the 2008 Olympic Games, and some 700 people have consulted the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) about the voluntary work for the games.About 70 thousand volunteers will be needed in the stadiums and gymnasiums of 2008 Olympic Games and another 30 thousand for the Paralympic Games. BOCOG will recruit another 400 thousand city volunteers who will work around the stadiums and gymnasiums to help the audience, contestants and non-registered media, and another 1 million volunteers to provide community services.BOCOG will start recruiting overseas volunteers this March, and the recruitment for city and community volunteers will be held in June, 2007.
