Chinanews, Changchun, Jan. 9 – Changchun and Jilin, two cities of northeast China's Jilin Province, have been ready for the 6th Asian Winter Games scheduled to be held there from January 28 to February 4 this year.Being the most important comprehensive continental one in China before 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the sports competition this time will witness the levels and development of the sports on ice and snow of all the Asian countries and regions. Athletes will compete for 369 medals altogether.Changchun won the bid for the host city of the 6th Asian Winter Games in 2002. An Li, secretary-general of the Organizing Committee for the 6th Asian Winter Games, last Saturday (Jan.6) expressed her confidence in fulfilling the commitment of hosting the most successful and charming games.
