He and the glider, Xiongfeng, which he made himself, glided over the top of Emei Mountain in 1990. He was the first Chinese to glide to 3,000 m high. From then on, Yi glided over nearly all the famous mountains in China. His great achievement has earned him the name of “the No.1 gilder in China”.Yi will be the first Chinese to glide over a great river if he makes it next January. According to plan, Yi will ride in a hot-air balloon in Changsha, which will take him and glider with the wingspan of 10 m to about 500 m high above ground, where he will start his adventure.
