Chinanews, Zhengzhou, December 19 – After 20 years of labor, archaeologists finally confirmed the positions of all the six ruins under Kaifeng, Henan Province. The six ruins are buried 3 to 12 m deep down in the ground, including the ruins of 3 dynasty capitals, 2 provincial capitals and a stronghold. The great discovery began in May, 1981, when many ancient bricks and some red bamboo curtain pieces were discovered in Panjia Lake. Then the archaeologists were astonished to find that six ruins were buried one over another under the ground of Kaifeng. They are Daliang of the Wei State in the Warring States Period, Bianzhou of the Tang Dynasty, Dongjing of the North Song Dynasty and two Kaifengs of the Ming and Qing dynasties. All the six ruins were submerged in the flood waters of the Yellow River. Though most cultural relics must have been recovered by the survivors, there might be something great yet to be discovered.
