We do not love by words alone,

　　But treasure other forms of speech

　　Than stuttered sounds through which love reach

　　Secret thoughts that hold hearts near

　　Recall love's charm and mindful ear

　　With range sonnets from captive simile

　　To tear on love——life's sacred isle,

　　Sparked eyes that light from depths proved pure

　　Give meaning to warm arm allure;

　　Sure hand that touches tenderly

　　Retells of love sealed trustfully

　　Words cannot tell what love has known.
