[a]1939-1940年，我国地质学家岳希新（1911-?）在四川威远采到一恐龙化石，经杨钟健研究把其中一条恐龙定名为岳氏三巴龙。它是在亚洲侏罗纪地层中第一次被命名的鸟脚类恐龙。
