Chinanews, Guangzhou, Jun.1 – Nearly 500 cultural relics have been salvaged from a sunken ship of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). The local cultural relic protection bureau revealed that all these ancient things would be transferred to a museum in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.Wei Jun, an expert from Guangzhou Institute of Archaeology, said that the cultural relics discovered on the ship could make people better understand the ancient lifestyle and provide vivid material for researchers on history and archeology.Our reporter saw some of these cultural relics on Wednesday, including gold bracelets, silver ornaments and ceramics.The salvage project is the largest ever archeological probe in China. The Ministry of Finance has set up a special fund of 90 million yuan for this project.It is estimated that there are 80 thousand cultural relics on the board.
